उत्तर
आर्यभट्ट ने कभी भी आँखें मूंदकर पुरानी गलत धारणाओं को स्वीकार नहीं किया। वे अपने विचारों को बिना झिझक और भय के प्रस्तुत कर दिया करते थे। उन्होंने ग्रहणों और आकाश की अन्य अनेक घटनओं के सम्बन्ध में स्वतन्त्र रूप से अपने विचार रखे। उन्होंने लोगों को खुलकर बताया कि हमारी पृथ्वी अपनी धुरी पर चक्कर लगाती है। वह स्थिर नहीं है। आकाश का तारामण्डल स्थिर है। आर्यभट्ट ने यह भी स्पष्ट किया कि पृथ्वी अपनी धुरी पर पश्चिम से पूर्व की ओर घूमती है और इसके साथ हम भी घूमते रहते हैं। इसलिए आकाश का स्थिर तारामण्डल हमें पूर्व से पश्चिम की ओर जाता हुआ जान पड़ता है।

कुछ आचार्य और विद्यार्थी पाटलिपुत्र के आश्रम की वेधशाला में बैठकर आपस में चर्चा कर रहे थे कि ग्रहण क्यों लगता है। उनमें से कुछ कह रहे थे कि धर्मग्रन्थों में लिखा हुआ है कि ग्रहण के समय राहु नाम का राक्षस सूर्य और चन्द्रमा को निगल लेता है। हमें चाहिए कि इन ग्रन्थों की बातों पर हमें विश्वास करना चाहिए। परन्तु वहाँ उपस्थित विद्यार्थी मण्डल में एक तरुण विद्यार्थी बैठा हुआ था। वह अपने साथी विद्यार्थियों को समझा रहा था कि पृथ्वी की बड़ी छाया जब चन्द्रमा पर पड़ती है तो चन्द्रग्रहण लगता है और इसी तरह जब चन्द्रमा, पृथ्वी और सूर्य के बीच आता है तथा वह सूर्य को ढक लेता है, तब सूर्यग्रहण होता है। राहु नामक राक्षस सूर्य अथवा चन्द्रमा को निगल जाता है, यह सब कपोल कल्पित धारणा है। हमें इनमें विश्वास नहीं करना चाहिए।

सरदार पटेल का व्यक्तित्व बड़ा ही बेजोड़ था। उनकी प्रतिभा बड़ी ही अद्भुत थी। उनकी बुद्धि अत्यधिक आकर्षक थी। उनकी प्रशासनिक क्षमता प्रशंसनीय थी। वे कठिन परिस्थितियों में भी सफलता को प्राप्त ही कर लेते थे। यही नहीं उनका स्वभाव भी बड़ा अद्भुत था। वे वीर, निर्भय, दृढ़ निश्चयी, मेहनती और उत्साही थे। इन्हीं विशेषताओं के कारण सरदार पटेल को ‘लौह पुरुष’ कहा जाता है।

(ब) सरदार पटेल का अपने अनुयायियों के साथ व्यवहार कैसा था?
उत्तर-
सरदार पटेल का व्यवहार अपने अनुयायियों के प्रति बड़ा ही सरस और उदार था। वे उनके द्वारा कोई गलत कदम उठाए जाने पर भी, उन्हें माफ़ कर देते थे। उन्हें प्रेमपूर्वक समझाते थे। उन पर वे अपनी कृपा हमेशा किया करते थे। इसलिए उनकी देखभाल और चिंता वैसे ही करते थे, जैसे एक पिता अपनी संतान के प्रति किया करता है।

(स) सरदार पटेल किस गुण के कारण अपने विरोधियों को पछाड़ दिया करते थे?
उत्तर-
सरदार पटेल को जिस युद्ध का सेनापति बनाया जाता, उसमें उनकी ही आज्ञा अंतिम होती थी। उसके दाँव-पेंच को भी अच्छी तरह जान लेते थे। इससे युद्ध की कला दिखलाते हुए अंतिम चोट करने में सफल हो जाते थे। उनकी यह भी बहुत बड़ी विशेषता थी कि वे अपने विरोधी व्यक्तियों अथवा अन्य राजनीतिक दलों की कमजोरियों को अच्छी तरह से जानते थे। उन कमजोरियों को अपने दिल-दिमाग में अच्छी तरह से बैठा लेते थे। फिर उसके द्वारा वे अपने विरोधियों को पछाड़ दिया करते थे।

(द) सरदार पटेल हठी विद्रोहियों को कैसे विनयानुशासन में लाते थे?
उत्तर-
सरदार पटेल ने कभी भी शक्तिशाली बनने की बात नहीं सोची। वे तो शक्ति को हथियाकर उसका नियंत्रण करते थे। फिर उसका संचालन किया करते थे। अपने हाथ में लिया हुआ काम जब तक पूरा नहीं हो जाता था, तब तक वे अपने आपको छिपाए रखते थे। इस प्रकार के युद्ध कौशल दिखलाते हुए अपने हठी विद्रोहियों की कमजोरियों पर अंतिम चोट कर उन्हें विनयानुशासन में लाते थे।

Dev : I went to Baghira log huts, Kisli, where my uncle lives. Kisli has a dense forest with wild ferocious animals. Tourists go there and enjoy the natural scenery, jungle life, wild animals and birds.

It is really thrilling to see the tigers sitting or lying inside the dense bushes and hedges. I saw a tiger drinking water from the nearby rivulet, We happened to see a tigress along with her two cubs. Her eyes were flashing like glass balls.

सूक्तयः हिन्दी अनुवाद

(1) विद्वान सर्वत्र पूज्यते।
अनुवाद :
विद्वान् सब जगह पूजा जाता है?

व्याख्या :
कोई मूर्ख व्यक्ति है तो उसका सम्मान अपने घर तक ही होता है। कोई धनी व्यक्ति है तो उसकी सीमा अपने गाँव तक ही है अर्थात् उसका सम्मान अपने गाँव तक ही होता है। कोई राजा है तो उसकी पूजा (सम्मान) अपने देश में ही होती है, परन्तु यदि कोई विद्वान् है तो उसका सम्मान अपने घर, गाँव एवं देश में ही नहीं होता बल्कि सारे संसार में होता है।

(2) महतामेकरूपता।
अनुवाद :
महान् व्यक्ति एक समान रहते हैं।

व्याख्या :
महान् व्यक्ति चाहे सुख हो या दुःख हो एक समान ही रहते हैं क्योंकि सुख-दुःख तो आते-जाते रहते हैं इसलिए वे अपने स्वभाव को परिवर्तित नहीं करते। महान् लोग जैसा सोचते हैं वैसा ही बोलते हैं और जैसा बोलते हैं वैसा ही करते हैं। उनकी कथनी और करनी में एक समानता रहती है। जैसे सूर्य उगते समय भी लाल होता है और अस्त होते समय भी लाल होता है। वैसे ही महान लोग भी सर्वदा एक समान रहते हैं।

(3) शीलम् सर्वत्र वै धनम्।
अनुवाद :
चरित्र (या स्वभाव) सब जगह धन है।

व्याख्या :
विदेश जाने पर विद्या ही धन होता है। विपत्ति आने पर बुद्धि ही धन होती है। मृत्यु के पश्चात् परलोक जाने पर धर्म ही धन होता है। परन्तु विचित्र सब जगह धन है। इसलिए चरित्र की रक्षा करनी चाहिए। धन का क्या है, आता है और चला जाता है। व्यक्ति धन से क्षीण है तो वह क्षीण नहीं कहलाता परन्तु चरित्र से गिरने पर उसका सब तरफ से पतन हो जाता है।

(4) नास्ति ज्ञानाम् परं सुखम्।
अनुवाद :
ज्ञान से बढ़कर सुख नहीं है।

व्याख्या :
संसार में सब वस्तुएँ नश्वर हैं, वे एक समय आने पर स्वयं ही नष्ट हो जाती हैं। केवल ईश्वर ही सत्य सनातन है। जब मनुष्य को यह ज्ञान हो जाता है तो भौतिक सुखों से उसकी अनासक्ति हो जाती है। इसलिए कहते हैं कि ज्ञान से बढ़कर सुख नहीं है।

(5) आज्ञा गुरूणां ह्यविचारणीया।
अनुवाद :
गुरु की आज्ञा को सोचना नहीं चाहिए।

व्याख्या :
गुरु सर्वदा शिष्य का कल्याण ही देखते हैं। गुरु कुम्हार के समान एवं घड़े के समान होता है। गुरु ही शिष्य के भविष्य का निर्माण करते हैं। इसलिए गुरु जो भी आज्ञा दे चाहे वह उस समय अच्छी हो या बुरी उसके बारे में नहीं सोचना चाहिए क्योंकि उसका परिणाम निश्चित रूप से अच्छा ही निकलेगा। अतः गुरु की आज्ञा पर भले-बुरे का विचार नहीं करना चाहिए।

(6) हितम् मनोहारि च दुर्लभ वचः।
अनुवाद :
हितकारी और मनोहर वचन दुर्लभ होता है।

व्याख्या :
हितकारी (कल्याणकारी) और मनोहारी (मन को अच्छी लगने वाली) बातें संसार में बहुत ही कम होती हैं। क्योंकि सत्य कड़वा होता है और असत्य मीठा होता है। जो अच्छी भी लगे और कल्याणकारी भी हो, ऐसा दुर्लभ है। अतः मनुष्य को हितकारी बातों पर ध्यान देना चाहिए, चाहे वह अप्रिय ही क्यों न हों।

(7) क्रियासिद्धिः सत्त्वे भवति महतां नोपकरणे।
अनुवाद :
महान लोगों के कार्य साहस से पूर्ण होते हैं, साधनों से नहीं।

व्याख्या :
महान् लोगों के किसी भी कार्य की सिद्धि साहस। से होती है, साधनों के होने पर नहीं। साधन तो सहायक होते हैं, | कार्य पूर्ण करने के लिए साहस परम आवश्यक है। जैसे श्रीराम
ने अल्प साधन होते हुए भी साहस से लंका पर विजय प्राप्त की।

(8) गुणा पूजास्थानं गुणिषु न च लिङ्ग न च वयः।।
अनुवाद :
गुण पूजा के योग्य होते हैं, गुणियों में लिंग और अवस्था की अपेक्षा नहीं होती।

व्याख्या :
गुणों का सर्वदा आदर होता है, वह गुणी के किसी भी लिंग (पुरुष या स्त्री) या आयु (बचपन या वृद्धावस्था) के होने पर कोई प्रभाव नहीं डालते। अर्थात् गुणी व्यक्ति स्त्री या पुरुष हो अथवा किसी भी आयु का हो, उसका सर्वदा सम्मान होता है।

(9) न रत्नमन्विष्यति मृग्यते हि तत्।
अनुवाद :
रत्न किसी को खोजने नहीं जाता अपितु वह। स्वयं खोजा जाता है।

व्याख्या :
मनुष्य में यदि गुण हों तो उसे प्रकट करने की। आवश्यकता नहीं होती, गुणों के पारखी लोगों द्वारा वे स्वयं ही पहचान लिए जाते हैं। रत्न कभी अपने ग्राहक को खोजने के के लिए नहीं जाता बल्कि ग्राहक ही उसे खोजता हुआ आ जाता है। उदाहरण के लिए कुँआ प्यासे को नहीं खोजता बल्कि प्यासा ही कुँए को खोजता है।

(10) विक्रमार्जितसत्त्वस्य स्वयमेव मृगेन्द्रता।
अनुवाद :
पराक्रम के द्वारा अर्जित शक्ति से स्वयं ही। स्वामित्व आता है।

व्याख्या :
मनुष्य में पराक्रम के द्वारा अर्जित शक्ति से स्वयं ही स्वामित्व (शासन) करने की क्षमता आती है। उदाहरण के लिए। जंगल में सिंह का सभी जानवर मिलकर राज्याभिषेक नहीं करते बल्कि सिंह अपने पराक्रम की शक्ति से जंगल पर राज करता है।

सूक्तयः शब्दार्थाः

एकरूपता सब को एक भाव से मानना। मृगेन्द्रता=सिंह का आधिपत्य/पशुओं का स्वामित्व। वाणी = वचन। ह्यविचारणीया = विचार करने योग्य नहीं। क्रियासिद्धिः = कार्य की सिद्धि। अन्विष्यति = ढूँढेगा। पूजास्थानम् = पूजा योग्य/आदर योग्य/पूजा का स्थान। मृग्यते = ढूँढता है। वयः = अवस्था/आयु। लिङ्गम् = पुरुष/स्त्री (पुल्लिङ्ग/स्त्रीलिङ्ग)। विक्रमार्जितसत्त्वस्य = पराक्रम द्वारा प्राप्त किये हुए स्वामित्व का। लिङ्गम् = पुरुष/स्त्री पुल्लिङ्ग/स्त्रीलिङ्ग)।
