Question 1.
Draw a line segment of length 7.6 cm and divide it in the ratio 5 : 8. Measure the two parts.
Solution:
Steps of Construction :
I. Draw a line segment AB = 7.6 cm.
II. Draw a ray AX making an acute angle with AB.
III. Mark 13 = (8 + 5) equal points on AX, such that AX1 = X1X2 = ……….. X12X13.
IV. Join points X13 and B.
V. From point X5, draw X5C || X13B, which meets AB at C.
